The Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) and the De La Salle Santiago Zobel School (DLSZ) have recently signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with the aim of reforming and rehabilitating persons deprived of liberty (PDLs). This collaborative effort will see PDLs receiving social and civic services from the dedicated faculty members, staff, and students of DLSZ. The initiative is anticipated to significantly enhance the well-being and character of PDLs through a variety of engaging activities, including social interactions, seminars, workshops, and training sessions.

The MOA was officially signed by BuCor Director General Gregorio Catapang Jr. and DLSZ Senior Vice President Rafael Javier Reloza at the New Bilibid Prison Compound. Director General Catapang expressed his optimism regarding the program, noting that it would impart valuable life lessons to PDLs. He emphasized the futility of committing crimes and underscored the importance of spiritual values amidst the challenges faced within correctional facilities.

In a similar vein, Senior Vice President Reloza highlighted DLSZ's unwavering commitment to uplifting the lives of youth, families, and those in need, including PDLs. This collaboration represents a significant step towards fostering positive change and rehabilitation within the correctional system.
